As 1997 drew to a close, so did the life of KNEW 910AM as a live/local broadcast entity. In September, Frank Terry, Bill Collins, Richard Ryan and I were informed of the transition to CNET radio which would happen later in the year, and were told we could all say goodbye on the air. That was unheard of in modern radio operations. Usually you simply cease to exist. About this same time, Brad Thomas, the program director at KFRC, and an occasional golf partner, called me and informed me that he knew of my situation, and asked if I would like to do some hours on KFRC. A wonderful little bluebird. Thank you Brian Thomas. You hate to be without a “K” (“W” for you on the east coast)…AND not just any “K”…This was the Legendary BIG 610…So, yeah I’d like some hours…
